June 20 (Friday) Broadcast: “Toei-Authorized Kenichi Suzumura & Hiroshi Kamiya’s Kamen Rider Ranger Radio”

2025年6月25日

Hey everyone, is your Tokusatsu love burning bright?!

This is “Tokusatsu for Tokusatsu by Tokusatsu Radio," officially certified by Toei: “Kenichi Suzumura & Hiroshi Kamiya’s Kamen Radiranger"! And once again, this broadcast turned out to be absolutely incredible!

Your hosts are our beloved Tokusatsu-loving voice actors, Kenichi Suzumura and Hiroshi Kamiya. And your assistant is Sumijena from Kamen Rider Girls!

So, this time, our guests were none other than the captivating villain group from the currently hot-topic show, “Number One Sentai 50-ger", the Bri-Dan members! We had Daisuke Samongi as Fire Candle, Marupi as Bouquet, and Kalma as Kuon Gallido, all three gracing the studio!

Right from the top of the show, Samongi-san’s unique self-introduction immediately drew a witty retort from the hosts! His greeting, “1-2-3 Samongi, Daisuke Samongi, playing Fire Candle," is apparently a routine he does every time, and it definitely grabbed everyone’s attention!

Now, let’s cut to the chase and present the super interesting talk highlights that popped up in this broadcast, just like you’d find in a hot online article!

Robot Battles: Actually Super Tough?! The Truth Behind Cockpits and Wildly Unscripted Acting!

To a listener’s question, “What interesting things or hardships have you experienced playing robot pilots?", the three Bri-Dan members spilled the beans!

  • A shocking truth was revealed: there are “no rules" for acting in the cockpit!
  • Initially, they tried to match their movements to the robot battle footage, but eventually, everyone stopped holding the levers – that’s how much freedom they had!
  • Marupi-san, who plays Bouquet, said she had to act wildly in the cramped cockpit without damaging her costume or falling over, thinking, “I have to be careful of Ikoi-san’s face, oh no, oh no, is it okay?"
  • Kalma-san, who plays Kuon, mentioned that the robot’s seat isn’t fixed, and when he gets slammed, his doll also moves, so he has to act while being mindful of that too!
  • They even shared a wildly unscripted moment where an unscripted “dance" was added and actually adopted!
  • The sets are surprisingly small, with only cameras and adults around, and since they don’t know where they are inside the robot, they check storyboards from the director and memorize the robot’s movements to act – a testament to their efforts, which are far more challenging than imagined!
  • They even need to be careful not to make too much noise by pulling levers too hard, like a “kacon" sound, demonstrating their impressive professionalism!

Wow, robot battles involve so much ingenuity and hardship from the performers that you wouldn’t know just from watching the footage!

Villains Yet Hugely Popular?! The Public Reaction Was “I Thought I’d Get Stones Thrown at Me"?!

From a listener’s passionate email stating, “You’re so charming as villains that I look forward to the broadcast every week!", the discussion moved to their public reactions!

  • Kalma-san, who plays Kuon, confessed, “When the broadcast started, I thought I’d get stones thrown at me if I was spotted in the city." He then added that he’s actually never been approached, which makes him a little sad!
  • Samongi-san, as Fire Candle, revealed the surprising fact that he always carries a hair tie so he can transform into Fire Candle at any time!
  • Marupi-san, as Bouquet, said that while she’s “never been called out as Bouquet," people do say, “You’re the one from 50-ger."
  • Host Suzumura-san, drawing from his own experience, emphasized that “TV’s power is amazing, but costume power is even more amazing!" Indeed, “it’s distinctive, after all" was a relatable comment.
  • Kalma-san worried, “If they treat me like Kuon, I wonder how they perceive me? Like I’m creepy?" However, he noted that many Tokusatsu fans distinguish between the actor and the character.
  • But! Children perceive characters as they are, leading to stories of kids getting scolded for imitating “Bakuten" in kindergarten or parents saying, “Don’t show them this part next time" – proof that the characters are just too beloved!

They’re villains, yet so loved! Bri-Dan is truly formidable!

Favorite Scene Talk! “Let’s Get Married." Trends! The Story Behind Bouquet’s Love Scene!

The latter half of the show was all about everyone’s favorite or most memorable scenes!

  • Kalma-san, playing Kuon, chose none other than the “Let’s get married." scene! He shared the shocking anecdote, “When I received the script, I actually confirmed with the producer, 'What is this?'" Kalma-san said the outlandish acting was fun, and his line apparently trended long after the broadcast!
  • And Marupi-san, as Bouquet, picked the flower field scene from Episode 15. She mentioned the director told her, “This is 50-ger’s first love scene, so good luck," and she found it especially heart-fluttering precisely because of the restrictions! This scene is definitely a heart-melter!
  • Samongi-san, as Fire Candle, particularly liked a scene from Episode 9. He got to act with Hornet on location, and fans praised it as “hero-like" and “passionate hero-like," even making it trend #1!

Wow, each guest has such memorable scenes! “Let’s get married." left an unforgettable impact indeed!

Bri-Dan’s Ambitions, and the Future of ’50-ger’?! Anything Goes After World Collapse!

Towards the end of the show, when asked about Bri-Dan’s desired ambitions, unexpected answers emerged!

  • Surprisingly, they want a “character song"! Even the cool Kuon, Kalma-san, exposed that “cool characters often get forced to sing a lot" for character songs! There was even talk of planning a cover of “Courage is Phoenix" for Fire Candle, Samongi-san!
  • Regarding the post-world collapse developments, while prefacing with “without spoilers," they dropped outrageous statements like “anything can happen after the world collapses" and “if we mess up, we can just collapse the world again"!
  • The mysteries and goals of each character, including Bouquet and Bluerick’s relationship, are set to be revealed in the future.
  • The hosts even rooted for Bri-Dan, saying, “We want to see the pattern where you lose in the final episode!" Kalma-san, however, declared strongly, “We will definitely win!" This makes the future developments absolutely unmissable!

Currently, Bri-Dan is so popular that they’re even called “more charming than the three enemies"! Their future activities are incredibly exciting!
